USA Jane Croson elected as MVP 

TIJUANA, Mexico, July 10, 2010 – Jane Croson of USA Team was elected the Most Valuable Player of the NORCECA Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship won by her side for a fourth consecutive time with a victory over Dominican Republic on Saturday night in Tijuana. Croson, who also resulted in the Best Attacker of the competition, was one of two Americans awarded during the closing ceremony chaired by Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz. More Español

Cuba wins bronze and ticket to Peru  

TIJUANA, Mexico, July 10, 2010 – Cuba downed Mexico in straight sets (25-20, 25-19, 25-21) to claim the bronze medal of the NORCECA Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship and the remaining ticket to next year’s FIVB World Championship for players of under 20 years-old. Cuba’s Captain Yusnieska Robles recorded 23 points, including two blocks and two aces, while Rosana Giel, Jennifer Alvarez and Sulian Matienzo registered 15, 14 and 9 points respectively. Puerto Rico clips fifth place 

TIJUANA, Mexico, July 10, 2010 – Puerto Rico claimed the fifth position of NORCECA Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship by defeating Canada in straight sets (25-18, 26-24, 25-19) in the first match on Saturday at Baja California High Performance Center Gym in Tijuana. Gold medal again within reach for Dominican Republic 

TIJUANA, Mexico, July 9, 2010 – Dominican Republic advanced for the fourth consecutive time to the gold medal match of the NORCECA Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship by scoring a 3-1 (25-17, 25-21, 14-25, 25-16) victory over Cuba on Friday. TIJUANA, Mexico, July 9, 2010 – Trinidad & Tobago beat Guadeloupe in straight sets (25-21, 25-18, 25-23) to conclude in the ninth position at the NORCECA Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship. Dominican Republic advances to semi final phase 

TIJUANA, Mexico, July 8, 2010 – Dominican Republic advanced to the semifinal round of the NORCECA Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship after scoring one convincing straight-sets (25-22, 25-18, 25-22) victory over Canada on Thursday. The winners put a lot of pressure on the Canadian side with their strong and well placed serves. USA wins Pool C with best points-ratio  

TIJUANA, Mexico, July 7, 2010 – USA defeated Mexico in consecutive frames (25-19, 25-16, 25-23) to win Pool C and a berth in the semifinals of the NORCECA Women’s Junior Continental Championship. The Americans recorded a points-ratio of 2.296 (225-98) the highest among the pool’s winners. TIJUANA, Mexico, July 7, 2010 – Cuba won Pool B of the NORCECA Women’s Junior Continental Championship and a direct ticket to the semifinals following its 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-22) victory over Puerto Rico. TIJUANA, Mexico, July 7, 2010 – Dominican Republic overcame a fiery Canada in four sets (17-25, 25-12, 25-18, 25-23) to win Pool A of NORCECA Women’s Junior Volleyball Championship. Both teams recorded the same total of blocks and aces with 8 and 4 respectively. TIJUANA, Mexico, July 6, 2010 – Mexico recorded its second victory in Pool C of the NORCECA Women’s Junior Continental Championship by defeating El Salvador 3-0 (25-13, 25-7, 25-8) in Tuesday’s last match. The home girls overcame a 0-4 start in the first set and never looked back dominating their opponents. TIJUANA, Mexico, July 5, 2010 – Hosts Mexico subdued Guadeloupe in consecutive sets (25-6, 25-11, 25-8) in the last match of day one of the NORCECA Women’s Junior Continental Championship. The home girls completely dominated their opponents in all facets of the game to take the victory in the Pool C contest.
