Rut Gomez the MVP in Group L
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, June 9, 2013. - Guatemala’s Rut Gomez
was elected as the Most Valuable Player as she carried her team
to win the NORCECA Second Round Group L qualifier held at
Alfonso Gordillo Gymnasium. Rut Gomez received also the award of Best Scorer and the Best
Spiker. Teammate, Walda Maldonado, was awarded as the Best
Digger and Best Receiver.

Guatemala
wins top spot in women’s Group L
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, June 9, 2013. - Host Guatemala with
victory over Guadeloupe by 3-1 (25-20, 24-26, 25-18, 25-21) won
the top spot of the NORCECA second-round Group L qualifier to
the 2014 Women’s FIVB World Championship.
Guatemala celebrated their victory not before suffering a scare
as Guadeloupe.

St. Kitts & Nevis finishes third in Group L
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, June 9, 2013. - St. Kitts & Nevis
beat Aruba 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-19) finishing in third place at
the NORCECA second-round Group L qualifier to the 2014 FIVB
Women’s World Championship.
The scores in each set remained close as St. Kitts & Nevisheld
little advantage in serves (6-5) and committed fewer errors.

Guatemala shows power over Aruba
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, June 9 2013. -Guatemala released
their power defeating Aruba in straight sets (25-4, 25-10,
25-12) at the NORCECA second-round Group L finished held on
Sunday morning at Alfonso Gordillo Gymnasium. The home team
executed with dominance by 42-7 in spikes and 12-1 in service
points. Guatemala finishes undefeated the preliminary phase and
clashes against Guadeloupe in the final match on Sunday night.

Guadeloupe books ticket to NORCECA third-round
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, June 9,
2013 - Guadeloupe cruised past St. Kitts & Nevis 3-0 (25-17,
25-16, 25-15) to conclude the preliminary round of the NORCECA
Second-Round Group L qualifying event to the 2014 FIVB Women’s
World Championship in Italy. The NORCECA 33rd ranked Guadeloupe
finished with a 2-1 win-loss record and booked their ticket to
next year’s third-round of tournaments. They will face host
Guatemala.

First win for St. Kitts & Nevis in Group L
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, June 8, 2013 - St. Kitts & Nevis beat
Aruba 3-0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-13) for their first win in the
NORCECA second-round Group L tournament a qualification event to
the 2014 Women’s FIVB World Championship.
After two outings St. Kitts & Nevis has a 1-1 win-loss mark
while Aruba remained winless. After their loss to Guatemala
earlier on Saturday, St. Kitts’ performance was more solid
taking over Aruba in 59 minutes.

Guatemala beats St. Kitts & Nevis in straight sets
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, June 8, 2013 - Guatemala defeated St.
Kitts & Nevis in straight sets 25-13, 25-14, 25-10 in their
debut on Saturday at the NORCECA second-round Group L tournament
of the 2014 Women’s FIVB World Championship at Alfonso Gordillo
Gymnasium.
Guatemala’s first outing was led by Rut Gomez with 20 points
while Diana Arias and Blanca Ocaña contributed with 11 and 10
respectively.

Guadeloupe starts winning in Group L
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, June 8, 2013 - Guadeloupe is off to a
winning start at the NORCECA second round Group L qualifier to
the 2014 FIVB Women’s World Championship, with a victory over
Aruba 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-14). Guadeloupe outscored Aruba with
a wide advantage in all categories, in spikes by 25-7, in blocks
by 9-4 and in aces by 10-1.
The top scorer of the match was Isabelle Acina with 12 points,

Tournament a qualifier event to the 2014 FIVB Women’s World

Gymnasium. Joining Guatemala, currently ranked 14th in NORCECA,
