AFECAVOL held its General Assembly

 

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, February 14, 2013 - The Association of Central American Volleyball Federations (AFECAVOL) held their annual general assembly, presided over by its President Marta Centeno de Sajché, accompanied by Nelson Ramirez, General Manager of NORCECA.

 

The main topic discussed by the presidents of the seven national federations during the two-day sessions was the development plans for the region.

 

The representatives also presented their reports and reviewed the regulations and competition formats for the tournaments in Central America, the qualifying system for the Youth Olympic Games and the second round World Championship Tournaments.

 

“Each country presented their development proposals and the requirements for its execution, as well as the confirmation of host countries for different events in the region. We also reviewed the opening of the Development Centre in Guatemala” Centeno said.

 

Ramirez was impressed with the organizational performance and the growth of AFECAVOL

 

“This is the institution with more advance and progress within the NORCECA Confederation and it as was shown during the finals at the Men’s Central American Championship,” he said. “The support from NORCECA is unconditional in the areas of economic resources, sports equipment, the organization of tournaments, and the participation of AFECAVOL in the continental, Pan-American and World Championships.”

 

The assembly concluded with the commitment to open the Development Centre in Guatemala which will allow a better instruction for the countries of the Central American zone and to make volleyball the number one sport in the region.
