All the roads take to U-18 Pan Am Cup in Guatemala

 

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, April 25, 2013 – The Organizing Committee of the second edition of the U-18 Girls Pan American Cup held a joint meeting on Wednesday with the representatives of AFECAVOL, the Central American zonal association of NORCECA.

 

The eight-team competition which offers the last ticket to the FIVB Girl’s Youth World Championship in Thailand will take place from April 29 to May 4.

 

Marta Centeno de Sajche, president of AFECAVOL and Vice President of FIVB and NORCECA, reviewed the updated reports from each working department and discussed the pending tasks in coordination with the Guatemala National Federation presided over by Enrique Santis.

 

A timetable has been established for the final stretch of the organization process during an inspection visit to the Teodoro Palacios Flores Gymnasium, the playing venue, where workers have been operating in high gear.

 

“I appreciate your efforts as well as the arrangements still to be made for the beginning of the competition” Centeno .said “Once again we expect a successful event hosted by Guatemala.

 

The last berth to the FIVB Youth World Championship in Thailand available for NORCECA and the South American Confederations will be disputed by those teams grouped in Pool B of the competition.

 

Pool A consists of defending champions, Argentina, Brazil, Dominican Republic and Peru which are already qualified to Thailand, while Pool B features hosts Guatemala, Chile, Colombia and Puerto Rico.

 

The top ranked team at the end of the preliminary round in Pool B gets the ticket to Nakhon Ratchasima
