Americans Gibb and Crabb claim men’s gold in Boca Chica

BOCA CHICA, October 6, 2019 – Jacob Gibb and Taylor Crabb of United States-A defeated Sam Pedlow and Sam Schachter of Canada-A 2-0 (21-19, 21-18) to win the gold medal of the Hamaca Finals NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tournament in Boca Chica.

It was the second tough battle on Sunday for the American duo who outplayed fellow compatriots Ryan Doherty and Miles Evans in the semifinals 2-1 (24-26, 21-13, 19-17).

Pedlow and Schachter won their semifinal contest against Canadians Grant O’Gorman and Simon Fecteau-Boutin 2-0 (21-16, 21-14).

Doherty and Miles claimed the bronze medal with a 2-0 (21-15, 21-19) over O’Gorman/Fecteau-Boutin.

Mexico’s Josue Gaxiola and José Luis Rubio won the match for fifth place with a 2-0 (21-18, 21-19) victory over Puerto Rico’s Cristian Encarnación and Juan Ribas.

Dany Lopez and Gerson Contreras finished in seventh position when Juan Virgen of Mexico-A was unable to play due to a fractured finger.
