Men of Mexico, Cuba and Dominican Republic have strong start in Boca Chica


SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 2, 2010The teams of Mexico, Cuba and Dominican Republic were the most successful during day one of the Boca men’s Chica Beach Volleyball Tournament, the third stop of 2010 NORCECA Circuit.
 

Mexicans Aldo Miramontes and Juan Virgen, winners in the previous leg in El Salvador, defeated Daniel Erazo/Eric Haddock of Puerto Rico-2 (21-14, 31-9) and Jeovanny Medrano/David Vargas of El Salvador (21-16, 21-9).
 

Cubans Karell Piña and Sergio Gonzalez topped Gerald Umaña and Yader Gutierrez of Nicaragua (21-15, 21-11) and then downed Mark Lewis/Dany Wilson (21-17, 14-21, 15-10).
 

The Dominican pair of Yewddys Perez and German Recio beat Costa Ricans Gilberto Villegas/Alexander Villegas (21-15, 21-14) and Puerto Ricans Orlando Irizarry/Joseph Gil (21-15, 21-16).
