Guatemala distributes equipment donated by NORCECA
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, April 11, 2012 – The Guatemala
National Federation distributed sport equipment for the practice
of volleyball and beach volleyball among all its associations
that operates across the country.
The equipment was received from NORCECA Confederation as part of
the development program the institution has in place to promote
the sport throughout all the countries of the region.
The associations operating in the different departments of
Guatemala are dedicated to improve the quality of their local
teams and increase de number of youngsters playing the sport.
Luis Enrique Santis, President of the Guatemala Federation, made
the distribution following a national assembly held in Guatemala
“With this equipment donated by NORCECA the different
associations will be able to move forward as they look to
improve the technical level of the players,” Santis said.
He also thanked NORCECA President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz not
only for the donation but also for his interest in the progress
of all the countries that form the Confederation.
“This program of distribution of equipment is being carried out
in all the countries of NORCECA and I am pretty sure it is going
to paid fruits in the near future,” Marte Hoffiz said from Santo
The Departments’ volleyball associations that received the
sporting goods were the following: Alta Verapaz, Baja Verapaz,
Izabal, Jutiapa, Sololá, El Petén, Guatemala, Escuintla, El
Progreso, Retalhuleu, Jalapa, Quezaltenango, Huehuetenango,
Suchitepéquez, Sacatepéquez and San Marcos.
