MVP to be selected from gold medal winners

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 23, 2012 – The Most Valuable Player of all NORCECA competitions will be selected from among the players of the gold medal winning team after the Board of Administration approved a proposal submitted by the Press and Statistics and VIS Commissions.

 

The confederation’s Executive Committee and Board of Administration successfully concluded their three-day annual meetings in Santo Domingo on Sunday.

 

The Legal, Press and Marketing Commissions were the last to present their reports of activities corresponding to the year 2011.

 

Also, Sports Events Director Chrissy Benz made a presentation of the competition calendars both men’s and women’s –covering 39 events- of the qualification process towards the FIVB 2014 World Championships to be held in Poland and Italy respectively.

 

The host organizers of the NORCECA Continental Qualification Tournaments explained the facilities and services to be provided to the participating teams and officials in the events to take place in Tijuana, Mexico and Long Beach, USA.

 

The representatives of Dominican Republic (Men’s Pan Am Cup and U-18 Girls), Nicaragua (U-20 Women), Tijuana (U-19 Boys), Colorado Springs, USA (U-21 Men), and Canada (U-23 Men’s Pan Am Cup) also presented their respective reports on the state of the organization.

 

Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, President of NORCECA, explained the participation of the first and second delegates in the FIVB Congress to be held in Anaheim, USA, the assistance of NORCECA to territorial members to attend the event as observers and the electionary process for the new authorities of FIVB.
