Brenda Castillo was best libero and best digger in London
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, August 13, 2012 – Dominican
Brenda Castillo finished as the best libero and best digger of
Olympic Games women’s volleyball tournament won by Brazil for a
second consecutive edition.
Castillo averaged 6.10 digs by set with 122 and 20 faults in 167
attempts and ranked as the top libero with an average of 9.80.
She was followed by USA’s Nicole Davis who was second with 8.30.
American Destinee Hooker, who was the second best scorer with
161 points, claimed the honors as the best spiker with an
effectiveness of 37.93 per cent. Her countrywoman Foluke
Akinradewo was second among the blockers with 0.93 by set, just
behind the 0.94 average of Brazil’s Fabiana Claudino.
In the men’s tournament, USA’s Donald Suxho was the second best
setter with an average of 10.14 while teammate Russell Holmes
was second among the best blockers with 0.81 by set. |
