Teams announced for seventh leg of NORCECA Circuit

CHULA VISTA, California, August 26, 2010 - USA Volleyball has announced the teams that will compete this weekend at the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit event at the Olympic Training Center sand courts in Chula Vista, Calif.

The NORCECA beach volleyball circuit brings together teams from North and Central America and the Caribbean. The U.S. stop is the seventh on the 2010 calendar. Play will begin on Aug. 27, continue on Aug. 28 and conclude with the semifinals and medal matches on Aug. 29.

Five women’s and four men’s teams from the United States will compete along with teams from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Representing the United States on the women’s side will be the teams of Kelly Bruning/Lynne Galli (USA-1), Emily Day/Kaitlin Sather (USA-2), Heather Hughes/Michelle Moriarty (USA-3), Summer Ross/Tara Roenicke (USA-4), and Tealle Hunkus/Heather Lowe (USA-5). The visiting teams are: Costa Rica’s Ingrid Morales and Natalia Alfaro, Puerto Rico’s Yarleen Santiago and Dariam Acevedo and Guatemala’s Maria Jose Orellana and Anna Lourdes Ramirez.

The men’s teams competing for the United States will be Kevin Beukema/Kevin Gregan (USA-1), Andrew McGuire/Seth Burnham (USA-2), Will Montgomery/Evan Barry (USA-3) and Avery Drost/Mike Maghy (USA-4). The men’s foreign teams are: Costa Rica’s Jonathan Guevara and Esteban Escobar and Luis Raul Sandoval and Julio Cesar Alvarez, El Salvador’s Ovidio Quintanilla and Rafael Francisco Vargas, Guatemala’s Rodrigo Gonzalez and Erick Garrido, Mexico’s Aldo Miramontes and Juan Virgen and Puerto Rico’s Roberto Rodriguez and Orlando Irizarry.
