FIVB International referees course begins in Santo Domingo

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, August 6 2012 — A total of seventeen referees from different countries of the Norceca region, South America and Europe have started their participation in the International Course at the FIVB Development Center in Dominican Republic.

 

Officers from Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Saint Vincent and the United States arrived to Santo Domingo to participate in the activities that will grant them a certification.

 

The course was officially open in a special ceremony with the presence of Angel Rivas, Vice-President of the Dominican Volleyball Federation; Bienvenido Mateo, Norceca VIS Director; José Ramón Pérez Vento, Director of the course, as well as Juan Angel Pereyra and Yohanna Mota.

 

The course started last weekend and concludes on August 9th. The candidates will have an evaluation on the 7th and 8th in a tournament as part of their certification process.
