Barbados the first to two victories

 

PARAMARIBO, Suriname, April 1, 2018 - After completing two rounds of preliminary round robin matches, Barbados is the first and only team with two victories, having outclassed the hosts, Suriname, at the CAZOVA U21 Men Championship currently taking place in Paramaribo, Suriname.

 

Barbados won the match in straight sets (25-16, 25-20 and 25-21) in just one hour and six minutes.

 

Barbados had more winners, 75 to Suriname’s 57 with the hosts having committed more errors, 31 to Barbados’ 27.

 

Akeel Oxley was Barbados’ top scorer with 10 points (5 Spikes, 1 Block and 4 Aces)

 

Kasdi Dean was the top scorer for Suriname with 7 points coming from all spikes.

 

COACH BARBADOS – John Stuart said “Suriname played well and we are glad for the win.”

 

CAPTAIN BARBADOS – Brandon Callender said “it was a good game, we had a few lapses but we overcame them.”

 

COACH SURINAME – Seigo Valdez said “We played a good team. We need to do more work in our Development.”

 

CAPTAIN SURINAME – Dylan Hiwat said “We played a better prepared unit. We need more work.”
