Beach volleyball on the agenda in Nicaragua

A VCP Beach Volleyball course took place in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua from July 21-25.

San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, August 29, 2014 - There is a strong desire to develop beach volleyball in Nicaragua, even with limited means. The organization of a VCP Beach Volleyball Grassroots course in San Juan del Sur was the perfect demonstration of efforts being made to develop the sport in the country.

Nicaraguan National Federation President Mrs Bertha Cuadra and her team have initiated several courses in recent years, which has helped to broaden participation in beach volleyball, and will continue to have a positive impact in the future.

One of the aims of this year’s course was to facilitate Nicaragua's preparations for the Continental Cup. Brazilian FIVB instructor Magda Falcao De Lima, who has visited the country on previous occasions, was happy to see the progress, which has been made in the last few years and commented that there are many opportunities for Nicaragua to develop its competitive teams for future participation in continental competitions. Specifically, she advised that the national federation should work closely with national coaches to support and organize more beach volleyball programmes in the country.
