Belize with good performance over Nicaragua

 

   

SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, August 17, 2015.- Having in mind to improve from their loss at the Girls’ U-18 Central American opener, both Belize and Nicaragua weren’t giving anything way as they want to reach the podium.

 

Belize showed superiority the entire match taking the win 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-17).

 

Captain Juel Lewis said “we came with our minds set on winning; Nicaragua did well even if they lost”.

 

For Nicaragua, Leonela Carcache indicated “even if we lost it was a good match because we went out for each ball and we gave our best”.

 

Coach Claudia Noguera of Nicaragua said “my players improved a lot in the receiving area and we created options to attack, Belize has improved their game level and has a team that can give more”.

 

With great satisfaction for their first victory of the event, Coach Alber Humes of Belize said “all teams perform well, we are determined to play and that’s what happened today”.

 

Kori Diego and Mya Musa of Belize were the top scorers with 12 points apiece; both on 10 spikes, Diego had two points on blocks and Musa on two aces.

 

For Nicaragua, Dalia Conto and Belen Arcia scored eight points apiece, on six spikes; Belize scored on 38 points on Nicaragua’s errors, and Belize committed 31.

 

Belize will face Panama next.
