Beltran recognized for contributions to Puerto Rican society

 

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, February 26, 2018 – Carlos Beltran, NORCECA Vice President for Marketing and TV, was one of five recipients of the statuette “Cigua Palmera” in recognition to outstanding services to the Puerto Rican community by immigrants from the Dominican Republic.

 

Besides the statuette symbolizing the national bird of the Dominican Republic, they received a diploma from Adalberto Bejarán, president of the INDEX-PR in a ceremony that took place at Jesus María Sanroma Hall of the National Music Conservatory in San Juan.

 

Beltran, a lawyer by profession and former president of the Puerto Rican Volleyball and Basketball Federations and currently secretary of the island’s Olympic Committee, has made long life significant contributions to the local sport.

 

“The personalities recognized here today have been successful in their respective fields in Puerto Rico and are committed to contribute to the development of the Dominican and Puerto Rican societies,” Bejarán said.

 

Besides Beltran, the other recipients were plastic artist Bladimir Díaz, journalist Hector Julio Hernández, educator Ana Yris Guzman and medical doctor Rafael Méndez Tejeda.
