Boca Chica to host finals of 2018 NORCECA Circuit

BOCA CHICA, Dominican Republic, September 24, 2018 – The Final of the 2018 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit will take place in the tourism municipality of Boca Chica in the Dominican Republic from October 4 to 8.

More than 15 countries will be represented in the event which grants points for the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.

Mireya Luis, vice president of FIVB and NORCECA and three-time Olympic gold medalist is leading the organizing committee.

She said Boca Chica was selected for the conditions of the beach which has been the site of many NORCECA competitions in the past, including the inaugural one in 2006.

The Mayor of Boca Chica, Radhames Castro, received the organizers in his offices and promised all the necessary support throughout the Public Relations and Sports Department in order to ensure the success of the event.

The organizers donated to the municipality beach volleyball sporting goods to be used in local tournaments.

Mr. Castro was accompanied by his wife Mme Maria de Castro and the director of Sports John Paredes. 

Besides Luis, the organizing committee was represented by Indhira Ramirez, director of beach volleyball of NORCECA, Milagros Cabral director of sports of Santo Domingo Province and Humberto Rodriguez, former director of sports of Cuba.CECA.
