Brayelin Martínez gets second MVP at U23 Pan Am Cup


SAN VICENTE DE CAÑETE, Peru, September 25, 2016 – Towering Brayelin Martinez, who stood out as the leader of the Dominican Republic team that won the U23 Women’s Pan American Cup by Gatorade, was elected the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.


Martinez took honor for second time as she also won the award in 2014. Her countrywomen Yonkaira Peña won it in 2012.


Martinez was also the second best wing spiker and was joined by countrywomen Winifer Fernandez, who took home the award as best digger.


Peruvian Angela Leyva was the best scorer and first best wing spiker.


Argentineans Candelaria Herrera, Daniela Bulaich, Sol Piccolo and Antonela Fortuna received the plaques as first best middle blocker, best opposite best receiver and best libero, respectively.


Cubans Yelennis Diaz, Gretell Moreno and Diaris Perez were recognized as second best middle blocker, best setter and best server, respectively.
