Bricio joins Mexican Team for Group C Qualifier

 

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad & Tobago, October 10, 2017 – A very close battle involving three teams closely positioned in the NORCECA rankings is expected at the Final Qualification Tournament Group C to the FIVB Women’s World Championship 2018 in Japan.

 

Teams of hosts Trinidad & Tobago, Mexico, Costa Rica and Dominica will compete here from October 13 to 15.

 

The top two ranked teams of the competition will get tickets to the 2018 FIVB Women’s World Championship in Japan.

 

Mexico has reinforced their squad with the addition of Samantha Bricio, the outside hitter who last played for the team in 2013 at the Pan American Cup. She is currently under contract with Imoco Volley Conegliano for her second year.

 

Mexico is ranked No. 6 within NORCECA Confederation while Trinidad & Tobago and Costa Rica are next at 7th and 8th, respectively. Dominica is ranked in the 17th position.

 

Teams will play a short round robin during the weekend with Mexico challenging Costa Rica and Trinidad & Tobago playing Dominica on Friday.
