Caguas close to winning the crown in Puerto Rico

CAGUAS, Puerto Rico, May 14, 2017 – Criollas de Caguas are one victory away from a sweep and the title at the 2017 Puerto Rican Women’s Superior League following their straight-set 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, 25-15) over Valencianas de Juncos at on Saturday night.

Annie Drews and Karina Ocasio led Caguas in the lopsided match with 17 and 10 points, respectively. Yarimar Rosa and Paulina Priero Cerame led Valencianas with 10 and 8 points.

Caguas dominated from the first whistle on their way to a third consecutive victory in the best-of-seven final series.

The fourth match will be held also at Hector Sola Bezares Coliseum of Caguas on Monday night following a decision adopted by the Puerto Rican Federation.
