Caguas lead 2-0 Final Series in Puerto Rico

 

CAGUAS, Puerto Rico, May 13 2017 – The third match of the best-of-seven Final Series of the Puerto Rican Women’s Superior League takes place on Saturday at Hector José Bezares Coliseum of Caguas.

 

Caguas has claimed the victory in the first two matches of the series against Valencianas de Juncos.

 

The Criollas first won at home 3-0 (25-16, 24-26, 25-21, 25-19) with Annie Drews and Karina Ocasio leading the scoring with 21 and 18 points, respectively. Paulina Prieto had 16 points for Juncos, followed by Tara Mueller with 14.

 

The second match of the series was at Guillermo Angulo Coliseum of Carolina where the Valencianas played as host team. Caguas also won 3-1 (25-20, 20-25, 25-15, 25-16) to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

 

Ocasio had 18 points and Drews added 13. Shirley Florian, Ana Jusino and Stephanie Niemer each had 12 points. Paulina Prieto had 17 points for Juncos, followed by Yarimar Rosa, Paige Tapp and Mueller each with 10 points.
