Canada scores comeback victory over Venezuela

LIMA, Peru, June 23, 2017 – Canada climbed back from  0-2 deficit to overcome Venezuela 3-2 (21-25, 22-25, 25-17, 25-22, 15-10) in a qualification match for the 7th to 10th positions of the XVI Women’s Volleyball Pan American Cup at Manuel Bonilla Coliseum of Lima on Friday.

Shainah Joseph led the Canadian assault with 22 points, including three aces, seconded by Kyla Richey who contributed 18 points in the win. Michael Reesor and Jennifer Cross charted 13 and 10, respectively, for Canada.

Desiree Glod and Luz Delfines each had 18 points for Venezuela while Aleoscar Blanco and Marie José Pérez added 13 and 11 in the losing effort.

Canada scored 10 blocks with Richey and Cross accounting for three apiece.
