Caribbean Junior Championships to start in Barbados

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, December 5, 2015 – Fifteen teams comprising eight boys and seven girls are taking part in the 10th edition of the Junior Caribbean Volleyball Championships where over 150 future stars will continue their bold bid towards Olympic volleyball glory.

With the countdown on before the start of the competition, host nation Barbados has come in for high praises from the Caribbean Zonal Volleyball Association (CAZOVA) President, Mushtaque Mohammed.

Mohammed who along with other members of the control committee was meeting with key members of the local organising committee described Barbados as having an energy which suggests that the tournament which launches on Monday will be a tremendous success.

"Whenever Barbados host a tournament you can feel that energy and this time the intensity seems even stronger," said Mohammed.  "The prompt and efficient response of the local committee and the willingness to cooperate with suggestions from CAZOVA is something that we wish could be replicated throughout the region."

That meeting was held at the Barbados Beach Club where the teams and officials will be housed.  So far hosts, Barbados along with Martinique, Aruba and Curacao were comfortably settled in the games village.
