Castillo and Larson-Burbach get awards in CEV Champions League
BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 16, 2014 – Dominican Republic’s Brenda
Castillo and USA’s Jordan Larson-Burbach were among the
recipients of individual awards at the end of the Final Four
2014 CEV DenizBank Women’s Volleyball Champions League on
Sunday.
The Dominican Castillo, who played for bronze medalists Rabita
Baku, was selected as the best libero while the American Jordan-Burbach
of champions Dinamo Kazan, received the award as best blocker.
Russian superstar Ekaterina Gamova of Dinamo Kazan, was named as
Most Valuable Player in addition to the award as best scorer.
Dinamo Kazan captured the title with a 25-23, 25-11, 25-23
victory over VakiBank Istanbul while Rabita Baku won the bronze
after a 25-21, 25-12, 27-25 win over Eczacibasi VitrA.
Gamova was once again the best scorer of the match with 21
points while Larson-Burbach added another 16.
Poland’s Katarzyna Skowronska-Dolata topped Rabita Baku with 15
points and Puerto Rico’s Aurea Cruz contributed another 12 to
the victory.
