Chile beat Guatemala to reach the quarterfinals

 

LIMA, Peru, August 16, 2018 - Chile ended the losing streak and got its first triumph at the Manuel Bonilla Coliseum in Miraflores after defeating the Guatemala team 3-0 (25-14, 25-8, 25-19) in his last match of Pool A of the IV U23 Pan American Cup.

 

The Chileans achieved their qualification to the quarterfinals controlling the match from the serving area, marking a huge advantage in the fundament of service 14 to 1, also doubled their opponent in attacks (39-17) and blocking (5-2).

 

Beatriz Novoa and opposite Maike Bertens were the top scorers for Chile with 16 and 10 points, respectively. The best for Guatemala was Maria Garcia with 6 points.
