Commissions inspect construction of venues in Nicaragua

 

MANAGUA, Nicaragua, February 2, 2017 -  Representatives of the different commissions involved in the organization of the XI Sport Central American Games to take place in Nicaragua next December, made an inspection visit to check out the stage level of the construction works  and the revamping of several playing venues.

 

The visit included the multi-purpose gymnasium located at Luis Alfonso Velasquez Flores Park, a massive building of 27-meter high where the volleyball and basketball tournaments will be disputed as well as the finals of boxing.

 

The venue will accommodate 8,000 spectators with an area of 7,500 square meters. The complex includes giants screens, massage rooms, locker rooms, television and radio booths as well as first-aid and anti-doping areas.

 

The members of the commissions also visited the new baseball stadium, the tennis courts currently under construction, the new Polideportivo España and the swimming pools complex.

 

The beach volleyball competitions will be held at Xolotlan Boulevard in Managua while other disciplines will be played out of Managua for specific conditions and the nature of the competitions.

 

The surfing competitions will take place in San Juan del Sur and the open waters events will be in Granada. The city of Esteli will host the women’s soccer tournament.
