Costa Rica with two teams in the semifinals
SAN JUAN DEL SUR, Nicaragua, October 19, 2013 - The two pairs of
Costa Rica advanced directly to the semifinals of the women's
tournament the XIII Central American Championship Beach
Volleyball Mayor 2013, and will face the duos of Nicaragua and
El Salvador.
Ingrid Morales and Natalia Alfaro of Costa Rica -1 topped Group
A while Katherine Quesada and Eugenia Ramirez of Costa Rica-2,
were the winners of Group B.
The number one pair of Nicaragua of Elia Torrez and Swan Mendoza
advanced to the semifinals by beating sisters Heidy and Mercedes
Traña of Nicaragua-2 by scores of 21-18, 21-18 in the
quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, El Salvador 2 (Diana Romero / Marcela Avalos)
outscored El Salvador-1 (Kathya Vasquez/Maria Fernanda Vargas)
21-18, 21-16.
In the semifinals, Torrez/Mendoza will meet Morales/Alfaro,
while Romero/Avalos go against Quesada/Ramirez.
