Costa Rican Allison Font named MVP

 

   

MANAGUA, Nicaragua, December 13, 2015 – Costa Rica’s Allison Font was named the Most Valuable Player of the XVI Women’s U20 Central American Championship after helping her team to stop the streak of two consecutive titles by Guatemala in the tournament that concluded on Sunday.

 

Font was also elected to the All-Star Team as the first outside hitter alongside her teammate Edya Espinoza elected the second outside hitter.

 

Runners-up Guatemala had Christa Reinoso as best libero and best digger, and Jessica Caal as best setter.

 

Honduras, the team of third place, was carried by Cecille Johnson, who took home the awards as best opposite, best server and best scorer with 116 points, while teammate Nataly Perez was the first middle blocker.

 

Nicaragua’s Leonela Carcache won the award as best receiver and Panama’s captain Yileen Ng was named as the second middle blocker.
