Cristo Rey still undefeated in Santo Domingo

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, April 12, 2018 – Cristo Rey kept their undefeated record at the National District Women’s Volleyball Tournament after four outings.

They are now 4-0 after a straight-set 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-22) win against Mirador (0-4).

Gaila Gonzalez led Cristo Rey with 13 points, followed by Marifranchi Rodríguez and Madeline Guillén each with 8 points.

For Mirador, Yanlis Feliz and Yaneiris Rodriguez finished with 15 and 10, respectively. Flormarie Heredia and Geraldine González each had 8 points.

In the first match of the day, Caribeñas improved to 3-1 win-loss record after a four-set win 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 25-19) against Guerreras who dropped to a 1-3 mark.

Lisvel Eve and Prisilla Rivera collected 21 and 20 points, respectively, as the winners’ top scorers. Candida Arias and Annerys Vargas added 11 and 10 in the victory.

Erasma Moreno haad 15 points as the losers’ top scorer. Yineris Martinez was next with 13 while Ana Binet and Dahiana Burgos finished with 11 and 10, respectively.

Cristo Rey meets Caribeñas and Guerreras go against Mirador when the action resumes next Friday.
