Cubans Peña and Quesada to Final Four in Cayman Islands

GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, April 22, 2017 – Top-seeded Cubans Karell Peña and Daisel Quesada advanced to the men’s semifinals of the Cayman Islands Beach Volleyball Tournament, the second stop of the 2017 NORCECA Circuit.

Winners of the first event of the year two weeks ago in La Paz, Mexico, Peña/Quesada cruised past St Clair Hodge and Kemoroy Percival of St Kitts & Nevis 2-0 (21-4, 21-10) in their quarterfinals contest.

Peña/Quesada will face Mark Burik and William Kolinske of USA-A who defeated Nicaragua’s Ruben Mora and Dany Lopez 2-0 (21-18, 21-19).

The other semifinal contest will be an All-Canada with Aaron Nusbaum and Ryan Vandeburg playing against Maverick Hatch and Garrett May.

Nusbaum/Vanderburg defeated Puerto Rico’s Orlando Irizarry and Juan RIbas 2-0 (21-11, 21-14) while Hatch/May overcame Guatemala’s Andy Leonardo and Luis Garcia 2-1 (19-21, 21-19, 15-11) in 53 minutes.
