For second day in a row Gina Mambru led the Dominican offense with 13 points, including four aces. Brayelin Martinez, Erasma Moreno and Marianne Fersola charted 9, 8 and 7 points, respectively, in the victory.

The winners held advantages of 7-2 in both blocking and aces charts. Candida Arias was the top blocker in the contest with four.

“Volleyball is a passion not an obligation, that’s the way I play the game,” Mambru said afterwards. “I love to play and even more when you are in front of your fans. I think we put a good show of volleyball for them.”

“It is another step toward qualifying,” Dominican Republic’s coach Marcos Kwiek said. “Today we made fewer errors than the day before and we need to continue reducing the mistakes.”

Adriana Flores, Captain of El Salvador: “We are satisfied with our performance today. We took the match as a learning experience and did our best against a tough team.”

“We played better today and battled,” El Salvador’s Coach Nery Henriquez said. “It was an enormous pleasure to play against the Dominican Republic and I wish them the best representing our region at the world championship.”
