DURANGO, Mexico, September 27, 2021 - Dominican
Republic defeated Puerto Rico 3-1 (18-25, 25-13,
25-12, 25-18) in a duel between neighboring
countries of the NORCECA Confederation for
positions 9 to 16 of the FIVB U-18 Volleyball
World Championship.
The triumph allowed the Dominican team the
ticket to play for positions 9 to 12, while the
Puerto Ricans will battle for places 13 to 16.
Left-handed Ariana Rodríguez Fung scored 18
points as the leading scorer for the winning
team, closely followed by Alondra Tapia with 17.
Elsa Cuevas contributed 11 points.
For Puerto Rico, left-handed Ana Fuertes
finished with 12 points and Valeria Pagán
followed with 11. |
