Dominicans continue strong showing at NORCECA U18

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, September 3, 2016 – The Dominican Republic continued en route to the defense of their U-18 Continental title after beating Guatemala (25-7, 25- 9, 25-11) on Saturday.

The Dominican side easily controlled all game fundamentals and was strong with its offense.

Natalia Martinez with 19 points, Madeline Guillen with 14 and Jazmin Feliz with 12, were the best scorers for the Dominican Republic.

“We came here for the experience. That’s the main reason of playing,” said Guatemala Coach Edgar Callejas.

Alexandre Ceccato, Dominican Republic head coach explained: “We came with a strong mindset because winning is our main goal. The aggressiveness was the key for this advantage”.
