Dominicans improve to 3-0 behind 20 points by Feliz

SANTA MARTA, Colombia, November 15, 2017 – Yanlis Feliz fired 20 points and Natalia Martínez added 17 as the Dominican Republic beat Bolivia in a volleyball match of the women’s tournament at the Bolivarian Games on Wednesday.

Relying mostly on reserve players, the Dominican team won 3-0 (25-17, 25-14, 25-12) establishing a big difference since the first whistle.

It was the third victory in a row for the Dominican side in the U23 volleyball contest. They will meet hosts Colombia in a decisive match on Thursday.

The winners held a 44-19 overwhelming margin in attacks and dominated also in blocks 5-2 and aces 9-6.

Vielka Peralta contributed 13 points in the victory. Fernanda Rodríguez and Noelia Leon had 8 and 6 points for Bolivia.

The Dominican sisters Brayelin and Jineiris Martinez and opposite Gaila Gonzalez were rested on Wednesday and setter Yocaty Perez only played in the first set.
