Edgar Alvarado named to the FIVB Board of Administration
SHARM EL SHEIKH, Egypt, May 4, 2018 – Costa Rican Edgar Alvarado
Ardón was designated as member of the FIVB Board of
Administration to replace Cuban Mireya Luis Hernández, who was
elevated to the Executive Committee as one of the vice
presidents of the institution.
Alvarado Ardon is the president of the Central American
Association of Volleyball Federations (AFECAVOL) which groups
the seven countries of that region under the umbrella of NORCECA
Confederation.
The new member of the board has a long managing career and is
the current president of the Costa Rican Federation.
Alvarado Ardon was an honorary vice president of NORCECA who
dedicated many years to the development and promotion of
volleyball and beach volleyball in Central America. He came back
active again when the Central American Federations elected him
to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Mme. Marta
Centeno de Sajche.
The other members of NORCECA to the Executive Committee and
Board of Administration are Cristobal Marte Hoffiz of Dominican
Republic, First Executive Vice President, Mireya Luis of Cuba
Executive Vice President, Mushtaque Mohammed of Trinidad and
Tobago, and Glenn Quinlan of St Kitts and Nevis, members of the
