FIVB Children’s Volleyball Fest, to take part in Tijuana


TIJUANA, Mexico, December 7 2017 – The FIVB-Norceca Regional Development Center authorities began with the planification and preparation of the FIVB Children’s Volleyball Fest in Baja California.


This Festival will take place at the Center facilities on December 17th, according to the program that was presented during the first coordination meeting on Tuesday.


One of the main goals is to promote the practice of volleyball and the sport itself among boys and girls as part of the worldwide strategy set by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) known as “Volleyball your way”. This program has been developed successfully in many countries of Africa and South America, for example.


Activities are expected to begin very early, at 8:30 AM, local time on Saturday 17th, with the arrival of participants. Immediately, there will be some warm-up sessions and the fundamentals’ clinics among teams and clubs from all over the Baja California región.


Thus, the presence of international instructors like Argelio Hernandez of Cuba, and Juan Cartagena of Puerto Rico, is expected. Both of them have directed courses and seminars at least a couple of times at the Development Center in Tijuana.


The festival will be possible thanks to a joint effort of the FIVB, the Norceca Volleyball Confederation, he Baja California Sports and Physical Culture Institute as well as the Baja California State Volleyball Association.
