FIVB President Continues To Explore Opportunities in USA Market
LAUSANNE, Switzerland, March 7, 2018 - FIVB President Dr. Ary S.
Graça F° met with athletes and officials during the Fort
Lauderdale Major last week as he continues to explore
opportunities in a key market for the FIVB.
The meetings provided the FIVB President and players alike with
an opportunity to discuss and share ideas on the future of beach
volleyball. The FIVB President also met with the Mayor of Fort
Lauderdale John P. "Jack" Seiler, who confirmed the city’s
interest in hosting the event next year. The tournament is the
focus of considerable media interest and is welcomed by the
local community and international guests.
USA Volleyball CEO Jamie Davis and Board of Directors
Chairperson Lori Okimura also met with the FIVB President in
Fort Lauderdale to discuss developments related to a national
league and the further growth of volleyball and beach volleyball
in the United States.
Speaking about his meetings in the USA, the FIVB President said:
“It is important for the FIVB to be continuously present in the
USA market with the country being a core nation of the FIVB
Nucleus Project. In Fort Lauderdale I had a great opportunity to
talk with various professionals on the development of volleyball
in the USA.”
“Of course, I spoke a lot with the athletes and USA Volleyball.
It was also great to talk with Hannes Jagerhofer, CEO of the
Beach Majors Company. We discussed upcoming events as well as
the 2019 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Hamburg,
Germany.”
The FIVB President completed his stay in Fort Lauderdale by
meeting with technology companies and potential investors as the
FIVB continues to look for innovative ways of enhancing its
events around the world and attracting new business partners.

Volleyball when he attends their Board of Directors meeting in
