First Class organization at the Cordoba Arena

 

CORDOBA, Mexico, November 18, 2014.- The organization of the volleyball tournament developed at the Cordoba Arena for the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games has been described as unique and special.

 

A great joint effort by volunteers, members of the organizing committee, the Norceca Confederation personnel, ths Staff and the Control Committee, along with the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization (CACSO) has been important to leave a legacy.

 

“The Caribbean Sports Organization and his President Carlos Cardona had a lot of confidence in this project since the beginning, and everything has worked perfectly with the cooperation of the Organizing Committee directed by Mr. Carlos Sosa, all his staff as well as the task force located in Cordoba, guided by Fatima del Angel,” Norceca President, Cristobal Marte Hoffiz remarked.

 

“You may feel surprised when I tell you this, I was a supervisor at the FIVB Women’s World Championship in Italy,” He added. “This venue in Cordoba has nothing to envy to the venue competitions in Italy at the World’s Championship”

 

The FIVB  First Excecutive Vice President said that the community has a special role to play for the legacy of the Games. “I beg the citizens and the community of Cordoba to take care of this venue, this is the legacy and the heritage of the Games for all of you,” Marte added.

 

Some foreign journalists from countries like Austria, visited recently the venue to cover some of the matches. They remarked the order and special attentions to the media.

 

Also some coaches have expressed their thoughts. “This has been a great organization. First class. We are very happy about everything. The conditions are perfect. Mexico has a very good logistic and also has a good capacity to organize events, so we are glad about it,”, stated Costa Rica’s coach Horacio Bastit.

 

The Men’s tournament is still pending, while the second round in women’s has just begun. The Norceca Confederation President also addressed to the media that there are high possibilities to bring more international events of Continental and Pan American level.

 

“It’s up to the national federation or the state government to request them, we are in the best availability to do so,“ he emphasized.
