Four teams secure post-season spots in Puerto Rico
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, December 18, 2013 – The last two weeks of
the regular season in the Puerto Rican Men’s Volleyball League
promise to feature a tough battle to define the positions from
second to sixth place.
Four teams have secured their spots in the post season including
the Guaynabo Mets who have sealed the top position with 58
points and a 19-2 win-loss record.
The other three teams with tickets to the post-season are
Arecibo Captains (38, 13-7), Corozal Plantain Vendors (38, 13-6)
and Carolina Giants (35, 13-7).
The Mayaguez Indians (32, 11-10) are currently in fifth place
and have secured at least a “wild card” but have still to
confirm their direct pass to the playoffs.
The San Sebastian Caribbeans are still one point away from the
“wild card” spot with 28 points (9-12).
Lares Patriots (21, 6-13) and Naranjito Changos (17, 7-13) are
in seventh and eighth place, respectively, with a slight chance
to make it to the post season. Coamo Marathoners are still
winless even though they have obtained six points. |
