Guatemala gets fifth victory

 

PANAMA CITY, Panama, July 30, 2016 – Guatemala captured its fifth victory at the U23 Men’s Central American Championship taking place in Panama City by defeating Belize 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-21) in the second match of the sixth day of competition.

 

The victory left Panama on the road for a final and decisive match of the tournament, when they face Panama, in the match scheduled on Sunday at 18:00.

 

On the other hand, Belize was left out of the contention for the bronze medal, with two wins and three losses and will meet Nicaragua on Sunday in the battle for the fourth position.

 

Erick Flores sparked Guatemalan team with 17 points, the same total achieved by Belize’s star player Bryton Codd. It was a match where teams minimized the unforced errors as Guatemala committed 13 to 22 by Belize.
