Harrigan and Dixon elected to NORCECA Board

TIJUANA, Mexico, November 3, 2013 – Wilbur Harrigan and Warrenton Dixon, of Antigua & Barbuda and Jamaica, respectively, were elected to the NORCECA Board of Administration on Saturday.

Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, President of NORCECA, made the announcement at the end of the first day of sessions of the XXII NORCECA Congress at Grand Hotel Tijuana.

Both Harrigan and Dixon will be part of the representatives of ECVA and CAZOVA in the Board and were selected by their colleagues from the zones which group National Federations each from 13 countries.

“With the selection of Harrigan and Dixon all the four zones within NORCECA have equal representation in the board,” Marte Hoffiz said. “This way our decisions are completely fair and democratic which is the purpose of every transparent institution.”

Harrigan has served as president of Antigua National Volleyball Federation for many years and has assisted with the development of volleyball in the Caribbean region.

Harrigan is managing partner of PKF Chartered Accountants in his native country and has been honored by the Queen of England for his work in the field of his profession in the Leeward Islands.

Dixon, a Major of the Army in Jamaica, presided over the Jamaica Volleyball Association for the past four years.

Dixon has been instrumental in the development of beach volleyball and volleyball in Jamaica, implementing a beach volleyball league and establishing a school program of volleyball.
