Huixquilucan: World class experience, world class stage

HUIXQUILUCAN, Mexico, June 8, 2014 - The fifth stop of the VIII NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit concluded as a huge success with tremendous support from the fans who followed up the finals at the Bosque Real Country Club.

“This has been one of the best stops, to me the number one, with an amazing stage, good facilities,” competition director, Arnaldo Sanchez stated. “After this one, the city of Toluca in 2013, was also another of the best stops, to not forget Cayman Islands.”

The view from every angle was very appealing, and even people who constantly take the nearby highway, felt so impressed while watching the actions they decided to get in to follow the competition.

Also a great promotion strategy across the zone contributed to the people keep an eye on it. Players enjoyed the amenities and the hospitality areas installed especially such as their rest lounge, a therapy tent and an exclusive food court, where high quality meals were daily served.

Judges and referees also had their relaxing zone and office as well as local organizing committee and the control committee along with a medical and doping area. A VIP Grand Stand with a “Sydney-style” roof gave a special touch to the temporary stadium.

Local authorities have expressed their support to bring the tour back to this exclusive zone across the limits between the State of Mexico and Mexico City, with countryside atmosphere despite being so close to one of the most populated metropolitan areas in the world.

People from many parts of the Valley of Mexico had the chance to enjoy this competition whose access was free of charge.

The main idea is to increase the interest in beach volleyball. It didn´t mattered being close of far away from the sea, so boys and girls who recently competed at the National Junior Olympic Championships from different municipalities could follow and exchange their impressions with Olympic Champions, World Tour Medalists and International top level couples.

During the finals the Major of Huixquilucan Carlos Iriarte Mercado was present to follow up the medal matches, as well as former diver and Olympic Medal winner, Fernando Platas, and the Huixquilucan Municipal Sports Director, Jose Luis Carpintero.

Matches were broadcasted by TDN and could be seen in cable and satellite systems. The stop also counted on with the coverage of many media outlets, agencies and TV stations of the National and State of Mexico local market.

Volunteers gave their best to guarantee the success of this stop with high hopes and expectations to be here next year in a world class stage.
