Cuba’s men dominate at Varadero

VARADERO, Cuba, August 28, 2015 – The two país of Cuba dominated their rivals in pools C and D and Canada-A in pool A advancing to the quarterfinals of Saturday after the definition of pool B in the fourth phase of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit. At the tourist complex Barcelo Solymar Arenas Blancas, Nivaldo Diaz and Sergio Hernandez (CUB-A), the champions of the recent Pan American Games in Toronto and winners at the Central American Games in Veracruz 2014, defeated Aaron Nusbaun/Mike Plantinga (CAN-2) 21-16 y 21-13, William Sánchez/Luis Castillo (DOM) 21-11 y 21-9, and Honduras’ Marty Wood/Wilfredo Vega 21-6 y 21-13. Their compatriots, Yendry Castillo/Liosbel Méndez (CUB-2) scored three victories in Pool D. More  Español

Women of USA and Cuba on right path in Varadero

VARADERO, Cuba, August 28, 2015 – Teams of United States and Cuba took the right path in the pool play but Canada and Costa Rica are also battling for the medal round at the fourth stage of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit at the famous beach resort of Varadero. Sara Hughes/Kelly Claes (USA-A) beat their opponent duos Amber Bennett/Valissia Brathwaite (ISV) 21-8, 21-2 and Jennifer Batista-Raquel Ferrand (DOM) 21-11, 21-11 to secure their spot at the quarterfinals. In Pool B, their compatriots Irene Hester/Caitlin Ledoux (USA-B) also had a job as splendid as the sunny day following the downpour. More  Español

30 pairs from 15 countries in Varadero

VARADERO, Cuba, August 27, 2015 – Fifteen countries and the same number of duos per gender will be represented at the fourth stage of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit to take place on the sands of Barcelo-Solymar-Arenas Blancas Hotel in Varadero, Cuba.

Canada and Cuba are entering with two teams per gender while the United States are fielding two women’s teams and one men’s duo. Six other countries are represented in both segments and the rest with men’s teams except Mexico and Guatemala that registered two and one women’s duo. More  Español
