Puerto Rico Women Open Beach Volleyball Title Defense with
Victory at Santo Domingo 2026
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 25, 2026. – Puerto Rico
opened the defense of its women's beach volleyball title with a
straight-set victory as the tournament at the 2026 Central
American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo got underway on
Saturday with eight straight-set wins in pool play. In Pool B,
defending champions María González and Allanis Navas of Puerto
Rico defeated Martinique's Karine Francois and Carole Herve 2-0
(21-6, 21-6) to begin their campaign. Costa Rica's Marcela Araya
and Eugenia Ramírez also prevailed in straight sets, defeating
St. Kitts and Nevis' Shajonee Gumbs and Jontelle Hensley 2-0
(21-8, 21-4).

Cuba Earns First Victory at Santo Domingo
2026 with Straight-Set Win over Guatemala
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 26,
2026. – Cuba claimed its first victory in the
men's volleyball tournament at the 25th Central
American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026,
defeating Guatemala in straight sets, 3-0
(25-15, 25-16, 25-12), on the second day of Pool
A competition at the Professor Ricardo Gioriver
Arias Volleyball Palace. Cuba improved to a 1-1
record, while Guatemala remained winless at 0-2.
On the final day of pool play, Cuba will face
Venezuela in a key match for qualification,
while Guatemala will take on Puerto Rico.
