International Technical Seminar for BVB Coaches gets underway in Guatemala

 

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala, February 18, 2014 - The Guatemalan Volleyball Federation is organizing an International Technical Seminar for Beach Volleyball Coaches from February 18-21 sponsored by the FIVB and NORCECA Development Program.

 

Twenty eight coaches hailing from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Venezuela and Guatemala are taking part in the seminar under the supervision of FIVB Instructor Mauro Hernandez of Venezuela.

 

The seminar was inaugurated by NORCECA’s President Mr. Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, who is visiting Guatemala on the occasion of the General Assembly of the Central American Association of Volleyball Federations (AFECAVOL).

 

Marte’s opening speech included a complete presentation of NORCECA’s Beach Volleyball 2013 Circuit and its upcoming events, including the qualification system to the Olympic Games of Rio 2016. He also encouraged the participants to take advantage of everything they will learn during the seminar.

 

“Our Confederation appreciates the efforts of Guatemala for hosting the event in collaboration for the FIVB’s programs around the world and especially the Beach Volleyball Qualification tournaments towards the Youth Olympic Games of Nanjing recently held here,” Marte said.

 

Attending the ceremony were Marta Centeno de Sajche, President of AFECAVOL, Enrique Santis, President of Guatemalan Volleyball Federation, FIVB Beach Volleyball Instructor Mauro Hernandez of Venezuela and NORCECA’s Development Center Supervisor Lisandra Ramirez of Dominican Republic.
