Chile defeats El Salvador, aims for fifth place

TIJUANA, Mexico, July 7 2011- Chile defeated El Salvador 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-20) and now will try to finish fifth in the Girls U-18 Pan American Cup.

Catalina Pulgar and Catalina Meneses topped Chile with 14 points apiece while Andrea Manzur totaled 14 for El Salvador.

Chilean coach Italo Raggio said the goals and mission planned before the participation in Mexico is almost accomplished.

“We will finish with six International matches, the most played by our team at this time. We are looking forward to get the fifth place in our next match,” he concluded.

“I think ee improved a lot, We applied our reception and attack. It was much better than the previous matches, but lost concentration,” Salvadorian Manzur said.
