Krystle Esdelle was credited with a match-high 23 points for Trinidad & Tobago, while Kelly-Anne Billingy scored an additional 22 points.

Mexico won despite Trinidad & Tobago holding a 13-5 block advantage and 65-48 kill margin. Mexico took advantage of 45 Trinidad & Tobago errors to make up the difference.

“Trinidad & Tobago have tall players and have improved since last year,” Mexico Head Coach Samuel Cibrian said. “We need to improve our block and reception. While we are not satisfied with our placement, we advanced one position from last year’s Pan American Cup and will continue working with our players to get better.”

“I am very happy with our performance,” Trinidad & Tobago Head Coach Francisco Cruz said. “This was the level of play for my team in a high-level tournament. We intend to play better in common tournaments.”
