All systems ready for Men’s Pool F Qualifier
Tortola, British Virgin Islands, June 6, 2012- All four teams,
Dominica, Montserrat, St Kitts and Nevis and host British Virgin
Islands are ready to square off in the First Round of the
NORCECA Men’s Pool F of the 2014 World Championships Qualifiers,
here at the sprawling Multi-Purpose Sporting Complex.
Looking ahead to the opening matches, team officials are all
buoyant of their teams’ chances.
Coach of the Dominica team, Jeffrey Emmond made the bold
prediction that his team will come out on top.
“We have trained very hard for this tournament, and I expect us
to come out on top, as we have beaten St. Kitts and Nevis,
Montserrat and the British Virgin Islands in the past, and I
don’t anything will change”, Emmond said with confidence.
Player/Coach of the Montserrat outfit, Denfield Morris expressed
his team’s optimism, despite not having a large percentage of
seasoned players to draw from.
“We expect though to make a favourable showing and be
competitive against the other teams”, Morris projected.
Captain of St Kitts and Nevis Steadroy Collins said: “We have
been training very hard for this tournament and we are very

“We do not take any team for granted, and as the saying goes,
you don’t win the silver, you lose the gold”.
And, Coach of the British Virgin Islands, Stephen Payne said:
“Our team stands a good chance of medalling in this tournament.

The tournaments serves off on Thursday, June 7, with Dominica
facing St Kitts and Nevis from 9 am, then host the British
Virgin Islands will engage Montserrat from 11 am.
The teams will be at it again later on Thursday, with Montserrat
facing Montserrat from 6pm and from 8 pm, the British Virgin
Islands take on St Kitts and Nevis.
The top three teams from the group advance to the second round
of the qualification phase set for 2013.
