PANAMA CITY, Panama, June 26, 2011 – Mexico saw off Panama in straight sets (25-19, 25-19, 25-18) and will meet Dominican Republic for fifth place on Monday at the U-21 Men’s Volleyball Pan American Cup.

Mexico’s coach Francisco Javier Jim opined the advantages given by Panama made it easier for Mexico to show their best game and to allow him to use some players who needed an opportunity and prepare the regulars for the fifth place match against Dominican Republic.

Juan Revuelta, captain of Mexico, said his team did the things well and now they will try their best to achieve a good position in the tournament when they meet the Dominicans.”

Panama’s Elliot Clark was disappointed with some judge’s decisions but didn’t use it as an excuse as he admitted Mexico was the superior team. Captain Pablo Quiel said the tournament has been another experience and they hope to conclude the tournament with honor.
