Level II Coaches Course in Santo Domingo

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, August 26, 2019 – A Level II Coaches Course was started in Santo Domingo on Monday under the organization of the NORCECA/FIVB Regional Development Center in the Dominican Republic.

The course is directed by FIVB Instructor Juan Cartagena of Puerto Rico with the assistance of Wilson Sanchez, one of the assistant coaches of the Dominican Republic Women’s National Team.

The participants hail from Bahamas, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Honduras, Panama, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.

The practical and theoretical lessons will be carried from Monday through Friday when the closing ceremony will take place with the presentation of certificates, said Nelson Ramirez, director of the center.

The opening ceremony was attended by Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, president of NORCECA and First Executive Vice President of FIVB, Luis Mejia Oviedo, president of the Dominican Olympic Committee and IOC member and Angel Rivas, president of the Volleyball Association of the National District of Santo Domingo.

Each one of them took a turn to motivate the participants and to praise the work the Development Center continuously does for the benefit of the volleyball in the region.
