Level III Course and visit of Dr. Graça among activities of Development Center

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, February 2, 2017 – An International Level III Coaches Course with participants hailing from twelve countries, was the most relevant activity carried out last year by the NORCECA/FIVB Volleyball Regional Development Center in Dominican Republic.

Prof. Nelson Ramirez, director of the center, presented a complete report of activity to the presidency of NORCECA, highlighting the peaks reached in 2016.

The Level III Coaches Course was conducted by FIVB Instructor Jivko Jetchev of Bulgaria and Peter Nonnenbroich of Germany. It ran from July 3 to 10 with 25 participants from Argentina, Bonaire, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Trinidad & Tobago.

The center also organized and supervised Level I Coaches Course in Santo Domingo and Monterrey, Mexico with Brazilian Antonio Rizzola and Puerto Rican Juan Cartagena, with FIVB credentials as the instructors.

The report included an International Seminar for Setters in the Cuautitlán, State of Mexico, in collaboration with the Mexican Volleyball Federation.

In the month of October, FIVB President Dr. Ary Graca visited the premises of the center located in the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center in Santo Domingo where he toured the classrooms and meeting rooms and received information about the functioning of the entity directly from Prof. Ramirez.
