Lucarelli MVP of Men’s Pan Am Cup


MEXICO CITY, Mexico, August 25 2013 - Brazilian Ricardo Lucarelli was recognized as MVP of the VIII Men’s Pan American Cup, while Dominican Elvis Contreras took the honors as Best Scorer and Best Spiker.


Mauricio de Souza from Brazil was named Best Blocker, while Taylor Sander from USA received the plaque as Best Server. The honors as Best Digger went to Argentinean Tomás Ruiz while his fellow compatriot Juan Ignacio Finoli received the Best Setter award.


Mexican Reynold Rangel was named Best Receiver and Puerto Rican Gregory Berrios won the recognition as Best Libero of the competition.


Along with these awards, the All Star Team was introduced at the end of closing ceremony with Finoli as setter, Renan Buiati from Brazil as Opposite, while Brazilians De Souza and Isac Viana where chosen as Middle Blockers.


In the two outside hitter positions the election went to Contreras and Sander Berrios was the Libero.
